VALUATION OF SEYITOMER LIGNITE BASIN BY SURPAC VISION Cihan DO?RUÖZ Mining Engineering, M.S. Thesis, 2003 Thesis Supervisor: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Kaan ERARSLAN ABSTRACT In this study, mine valuation and project development has been realised through application of Surpac Vision 4.1-F software on Seyitömer lignite basin of Turkish Coal Enterprises (TKİ), within a 4000 Hectar area and on 613 drill holes. The benefits and features of Surpac Vision 4.1-F software, in mine valuation and design is explained in details. Generation of a database with drill hole data, reporting of various type of information, three dimensional visualisation of drill holes, taking ore body cross sections and displaying, DTM (digital terrain model) and the STRING logic have also been explained. Preparation of topographic and structural contour maps, display of hole logs, design of open pits and preparation of reports using database are also realised. With the DTM and STRINGS, overburden volume and coal reserve amount are calculated. Briefly in this study, how a drill hole database is generated by Surpac V-4.1F, how this database is used for mine valuation is explained in details for a real case mining problem.
