The evaluation of israeli narrations of Vahb B. Munabbih within Tabari's tafsir

The Quran is a holy book that guides life and gets involved in the lives of the human beings since it was sent. The given value to Holy Quran is not only by performing a visual set of behaviors; but also, its comprehension and interpretation activities are carried out. In the early periods when this activity was kept alive, Muslims developed procedures and principles regarding the understanding of the revelation. Then, Muslims managed to present the context of revelation to the understanding of the century and managed to make use of it properly. Today, humanity's problems with revelation in the most general sense; they are unable to develop a correct way of thinking to understand it and unable to comprehend The Holy Quran within the understanding of the century in which they lived. Therefore, today's Muslims need to benefit from the experiences of the past and the methods of using knowledge from the perspective of revelation to enlighten on their time. Having the opportunity to benefit from these knowledges of the past period means giving us a style and our ability to think is kept fit as well. For this purpose, this study demonstrates an understanding and evaluation why a historian and glossator Ibn Cerir et-Taberi (d. 310-923) used some rumors from men who were previously non-Muslim, then converted to Islam in the content of his book, the Qur'an interpretation of "Câmi'u'l-Beyan an Te'vili Âyi'l-Quran." Because, Taberi used the information of some narrators, especially Vehb b. Munebbih and Ka'bu'l-Akhbar in his interpretation book. His new approach and knowledge were going to accepted as Islamic knowledge. But his new approach and the knowledge of narrators that he mentioned in his book were going to be controversial. This study examines and explains why Taberi needed new approach and knowledge in the context the approach of his interpretation book. In addition, this study illustrates Taberi's understanding of Holy Quran and a comprehension of some rumors from Vehb b. Munebbih who was mentioned in Taberi's interpretation book.
