Abstract (EN)

Tahsin Yucel, one of our famous writers of the Republican period who had given his studies in many areas of our literature. Yucel, who considered authorship as a social process, seems to have committed the values approved by society as well as the individuals and the conflict experienced by these values in his novels. The reason which led us to this study is the desire of addressing and evaluation of the problem of "conflict of values" in Tahsin Yucel's novels, which had not been studied before at the level of novels. Tahsin Yucel's artistic life, especially his novelism tried to express his point of view towards values in the first part of the thesis. In the second section that follows, information is given about the concept of value and the conflict of values which are tried to be defined by many disciplines, yet cannot be fitted into a single definition. The third and final part of the work is devoted to the study of the author's novels in the context of a conflict of values. Keywords: Tahsin Yucel, value, conflict, conflict of values, morality, society, individual, good-bad, right-wrong, justice, equality, tradition, man-woman.
