Examination of the mental ready status of sports high school students who choose volleyball from team sports (Batman province example)

The aim of this research is to examine the mental readiness of Sports High School students who study at the sports high school affiliated to the Batman Provincial Directorate of National Education and choose the volleyball lesson from team sports, according to various variables. This study was investigated by structural equation modeling. The universe of the research consists of the students studying at Batman sports high school in the 2022-2023 academic year, and the sample consists of 117 students who choose the volleyball lesson from team sports. The "Mental Readiness Scale" consisting of 35 items developed by Zekioğlu et al. in 2017 was used to determine the students' views. Descriptive statistics, interrelationships between variables and reliability analyzes were carried out with the SPSS (22) program. As a result of the validity and reliability analyzes of the data in the research; analyzed by t-Test and One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) for independent samples. As a result of our study; Significant changes were found only in the sub-dimension of mental preparation, which is one of the sub-dimensions of students' mental readiness, and in the sub-dimension of composure, fear, motivation, interest and focus.
