A research and discussion of rules and implementations of occupational safety in manufacturing for machine tools in turkey

Machine tools are the most commonly used tools in metal forming and machining. Work accidents were experienced frequently In factories which use machine tools. There are set regulations for the safe utilization of machine tools at manufacturing, setup and use stages in our country. In this study, the rules and regulations for preventing work accidents that might occur during production with machine tools are introduced. Case field visits are performed in big, medium and small scale firms. The crucial points at design stage of machine tools are stated in this work. The safety precautions that employees should take when using the machines are mentioned. Some solutions in preventing occupational safety were proposed considering the accidents due to environmental conditions.
