Abstract (EN)
Working models are moving away from traditional systems thanks to technological developments. Among these models, remote working is the subject of many researches and studies. The remote working model, which is more in demand with the global pandemic, has many advantages and disadvantages in itself. Among the advantages, factors such as reduced transport costs, reduced traffic congestion and urban congestion can be mentioned. One of the most important disadvantages is the provision of employee motivation. Employee motivation can be provided by the presence of many organisational factors. It can be mentioned that the training provided by the organisation, such as promotion opportunities, have a direct impact on the motivation of individuals This thesis aims to determine the motivational factors, both intrinsic and extrinsic, of individuals working under partial and full-time remote working models in the quality department of a communication sector call center in Istanbul.. In-depth interviews were conducted with 15 full-time teleworkers and 15 part-time teleworkers. The findings of the analysis were finalised using thematic analysis method. As a result of the research, it was determined that there are factors that negatively affect intrinsic (inability to generate ideas, lack of communication) and extrinsic motivation (salary, inequality) in both working models and that these factors may vary. It has been determined that there are more factors that negatively affect intrinsic motivation (not being able to meet face to face, not being able to generate ideas, desire to be in the office and lack of communication, extra effort, not belonging and difficulty in communication) in individuals working remotely full-time, compared to individuals working remotely part-time. It has been determined that internal factors that positively affect motivation (lack of road stress, being at home and taking care of children, getting used to it over time, positive impact and high efficiency, positive feedback) are more present in individuals working part-time remotely.
