Abstract (EN)

Preparing messages which appeal to eyes and ears, to awake consumers about the existance of a product or a service, and to maintain a positive attitude towards a product, a brand name, a service or an institution, and publishing those messages with or without charge is called `promotion?. The most common communication devices for promotion are television, media and posters. Posters are in every aspect of our lives and appeal to people from all strata.Promotion poster, which is a combination of the words promotion and poster, can indeed be thought as nesting and complementary words as both words include their aims in their contents. In other words, using posters, which are printed visuals, is the most known and used way of advertising. Posters are one of the most popular ways of advertising.Using caricatures in promotion posters is a completely different area in advertising as caricature is an art which makes people laugh and think at the very same time. The aim of caricatures should never be insulting or making fun of people. While focusing on a certain area, caricatures use the appeal and memorability of humour. Using and nesting Promotion-Posters-Caricature triplet can considerably be impressive. If we can blend the necessity of promotion with the artistry and entertainment of caricature, the outcome can considerably be authentic, attractive and impressive.Key Words: Promotion (Advertisement), Poster, Caricature, Culture.
