Foreign depts of Ottoman Empire after Tanzimat

This thesis analyses foreign debts that Ottoman Empire obliged to pay after Tanzimat era by implementing general definition of national debt within the context of social structure of Ottoman Empire. First of all, how national debt starts and its causes have been expressed. Then, It is been stressed on dissolution of Fiscal, Economic and social structure of Ottoman Empire. Finally, It has been discussed Ottoman Empire's foreign debt excitement from the point where it starts until the debt process ended. Ottoman Empire had never requested foreign debt until the declaration of Tanzimat. However, after this era fiscal bottlenecks and high military expenditures in the Ottoman Empire resulted in high budget deficits. Rapid increases in budged deficits caused Ottoman Empire to request foreign debt from European money markets. Requesting foreign debts within the internal lack of resources demolished economics and fiscal structure of Ottoman Empire. Foreign debts received by Ottomans had used more likely in current expenditures so debts had raised cumulatively and it resulted with the seize of substantial part of public revenues by foreign authorities.
