Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between the fans' views on the source of violence in football and their level of identification in sports. In this context, in order to obtain data, a questionnaire was applied to the participants to determine their scale and demographic information. To research 283 people, 252 men and 31 women, participated in the survey and the results were analyzed with the SPSS program. The results obtained were analyzed to establish the connection between the views on supporter identification and violence. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22 package program. Data on variables such as gender, age, marital status and education of the participants were analyzed descriptively. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used for the normality tests of the values taken from the data, since the sample group was larger than 50. One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Depended t test were used because the data showed normal distribution. The data that provided homogeneity were tested by Scheffe and Hochberg GT2 test, and the data that did not provide homogeneity was performed by Tamhane Post-Hoc multiple comparison test. Pearson Correlation test was used to determine the relationship between the sub dimensions of the scale, since the data showed normal distribution. Statistical values were evaluated at 95% confidence interval. According to the findings of the study, a weak positive correlation was found between identification and violence sub-dimensions arising from sports media, referee decisions, trainer and coach and athlete behaviors (p<0.05). As the identification of the participants with the team increases, the violence caused by the sports media, referee decisions, trainers and coaches and athlete behaviors increases. No relationship was found between identification and violence caused by supporters and cheerleaders (p>0.05).
