Records about the Abbasi caliphals in the work called Tarih-i Benâketî

Fahrüddîn Ebû Süleyman Dâvûd b., one of the palace historians of the Ilkhanid State. One of the works written by Muhammed Benâketî is Ravzatü Üli'l-Elbâb fî Tevârîhi'l-Ekâbir ve'l-Ensâb, also known as Târîḫ-i Benâketî. This work, which was written during the Ilkhanid period and has an extremely historical value, was written in Persian as a general world history. The subject of this thesis study is the translation and evaluation of the Abbasid Caliphs part of the work into Turkish. In addition, information was given about the book and the author and an evaluation was made in a general framework. The fact that no part of the book has been translated into Turkish so far reveals the contribution of the work to the scientific world. While information is given under separate headings about 35 of the 37 Abbasid caliphs in the Abbasids section of the work; He did not include the biographies of Muktefî-Liemrillah and Müstencid-Billâh, the 31st and 32nd Abbasid caliphs, under a separate heading. These 2 caliphs were named after the 30th Abbasid Caliph er-Râşid-Billâh Ebû Ca'fer el-Mansûr b. al-Mustershid briefly mentioned it in the last paragraph of his title. The work not only provides information about the political history of the Abbasids; Important scholars of the Islamic geography during the Abbasid period were also introduced, especially through news of their deaths. In addition, the powerful figures of the period who reigned in different parts of the Islamic geography and the events related to them are also included.
