Women's history educationa on history/history education websites: Examples of England, United State end Turkiye

The aim of this study is to examine a series of websites in three different countries from various perspectives offer content for teaching women's history and to provide to used the findings for the design of similar websites. For this purpose, examples are listed on the websites of the United Kingdom ("The National Archives"), the United States ("National Women's History Museum") and Turkey ("Women were There Too!"). Document analysis method, which is within the scope of qualitative research of the research, was used. The data were analyzed by content analysis and descriptive analysis methods. All three websites, with the UK being more predominant, adopt a resource/evidence-based learning approach; it has been found that the contents are fed from a women's perspective and feminist approaches, teaching materials prepared specifically for women's history teaching are presented, and the existence of a student-oriented approach. While the British website is based on the source/evidence-based learning used in archival documents, which are primary sources, and protecting women with relevant historical-social contexts; The United States web view focuses on the teaching of female portraits with an individualist and liberalist approach; In the Turkish web environment, in addition to resource-based learning, a content design targeting the teaching of women's past has been detected through products that focus on learning by having fun with a pragmatic approach. The fact that the British and US websites included teacher guidance materials such as teacher guides, teacher notes, lesson plans, lesson guides, etc. was found to be efficient in terms of facilitating and managing the process. All three websites have the feature of being a source for possible websites that can be established for women's history teaching with their approach, content and physical structures. In similar web site designs for women's history teaching, the content and physical designs of these three web sites can be used as a guide/inspired; It is among these suggestions that students, teachers and researchers can benefit from these websites as a resource in women's history teaching.
