Özet (EN)

In this master thesis, "The Development of Çorum Bazaar in Historical Periods" has been examined. The purpose of this study is to reveal the development of Çorum Bazaar from past to present and to provide the transfer of the bazaar to future generations by documenting. The bazaar, which constitutes the main focus of the city, consists of three separate sections. The shops that make up these three groups have been handled in terms of plan, architecture and dating features. In addition, the stores were photographed and cataloged and systematically evaluated. Under the light of this information, the place of Çorum Bazaar in the History of Islamic Art was tried to be determined with the help of comparison and similar examples. Çorum Bazaar has been examined under three main headings, namely Çöplük Bazaar, which has a grid plan, Dikiciler Arastasi, which is arranged in the form of an inter plan, and shops that bring rental income to the Great Mosque. Although it reflects the architecture of the 18th century with the fringe cornice arrangement made with baroque style in the Çöplük Bazaar shops, a large part of it was burned and rebuilt in 1925-1926 after a big fire in 1913. After 1950, most of the fringe arrangements with C and S curves were destroyed. These architectural elements, which can preserve their original state, are examined in the thesis. The Great Mosque shops and Dikiciler Arasta are similar to the plans of other Islamic Art. The grand mosque shops are in line with the plans seen in other Islamic cities, but they were last rebuilt in the third quarter of the 19th century. The Dikiciler Arastasi was built in 1960, it is among the last built in Turkey. Its very narrow road, Which are been floored the form of Albanian pavement, has become a focus of attention in the across the city and Turkey. Despite the fact that there is the registration of the building , the absence of a land registry is a big problem. Today, the street where Arasta is located is seen as a road in the land registry map. Under the light of all the data that emerged, Çorum Bazaar was evaluated from a holistic perspective and a result was reached and Suggestions were made to contribute to the existence of Çorum Bazaar.
