Abstract (EN)

Sentence connectors; it is a grammatical structure that deals with many different functions, especially explanation, addition, contrast, reporting results between sentences. Written and oral expression forming a meaningful whole; it is directly proportional to the appropriate use of conjunctions and sentence connectors that form a sub-branch of it. Connectors are also worthy of study by researchers as they contain information about the development style of the judgment in the sentences that they are interested in. The structure that relates words, phrases and sentences to each other in terms of meaning is called as conjunction. Conjunctions play a major role in the integration of meaning by connecting two structures with similar functions from various aspects. Structures that establish a relationship between sentences can be defined as sentence connectors. The main reason that encourages us to do such a study is the cohension and coherence necessary for the entire text to be understandable, and providing this consistency and coherence with connectors. Connectors; it is seen as one of the most important factors in making the text understandable with its feature of clarifying the meaning. Connectors with different opinions about their place in word types; in the studies, it was mostly evaluated in the categories of prepositions and conjunctions and among non-sentence elements. This is due to the dynamic and transitive nature of connectors. A word that can be qualified as a preposition in one sentence can be defined as a conjunction in another sentence or as a sentence connector in another sentence. However, since the evaluation of each sentence and each word in the context of the text or sentence is one of the most important elements to prevent this current confusion, in this thesis, each connector has been evaluated within the its context.
