Wedding ceremonies in the historical process and wedding ceremonies as an action field

This study focuses on the analysis of the social sources of wedding ceremonies and changes in rituals related to these ceremonies, which are seen as the most concrete predecessor of marriage and family-building experiences in the daily life practices of people in almost every society from past to present. The wedding ritual takes place as a result of the actions and group movements of individuals. In our study, the purposes and rituals of the wedding ceremonies are held and what kind of changes they have in the context of time and space are examined. How the weddings are perceived according to social spaces and time zones, whether they represent multidimensional changes in social space and whether the rituals realized especially in the context of ceremonies reflect these changes constitute the roof of our study. In addition, wedding ceremonies, which can be regarded as an action area within the daily life of individuals, are among the basic topics of our study for individuals in social life and in their daily life experiences. In this context, within the scope of wedding ceremonies, the way individuals identify and position themselves, the reasons for the influence of the perpetrator and the changing performance styles are also analyzed. The theoretical ground of the study shapes the theoretical debates that have developed as a result of sociologists' attempts to overcome structural-agency dualism, such as Erving Goffman, Norbert Elias, Pierre Bourdieu, Anthony Giddens and Zygmunt Bauman. Our priority here is to evaluate the phenomenon of wedding not only with its structural contexts, but also within the perpetrator of the practical dimension of everyday life. Of course, these evaluations are not merely theoretical discussions. Our analysis of the questions we focused on in our study was supported by such theoretical discussions as well as current data from the field. In the field research, semi-structured interview and participant observation techniques, which are qualitative research techniques, were used.
