Abstract (EN)

The study is a research titled "Collage Technique in Painting in Historical Process and Investigation of the Works of Important Representatives in Terms of Plastic Values". The collage was first found on sculptures made by primitive tribes. To increase visual impact in Egyptian art, wall paintings and sculptures; gold, silver or semi-precious stones were placed in the eyes and different materials were used besides the paint. The collage was first used as a means of expression by the invention of paper in China in the 200s before Christ. In the 12th century, calligraphers in Japan began to apply collage with papers affixed to text surfaces while writing their poems. In the 15th and 16th centuries, collages were formed in the Gothic cathedrals using gold leaf panels. Precious stones and precious metals were added to religious pictures and icons. In the 19th century, the use of collage was seen in books. The collage was first used in the modernist sense by cubist painters Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. The waste materials that Braque and Picasso added to his canvases brought a new perspective on painting when they met the surface plane of the painting. After the First World War, the artists reflected the social things they experienced in their works with a collage. The impact of political and social events in the 1960-1980 years, the life style based on the consumption in daily life has given priority to postmodern thinking in the field of design and art. In Turkey, the process of adaptation to the modern world began with the trend seen in the Turkish painter of pictures of abstraction in 1950. Group D can be an example of the cubist artist also uses the collage art in Turkey. This research was carried out to gather under a single roof of the important representatives in the world and in Turkey who are applying this technique and analysis of their collage works next to the historical process of collage Keywords : Collage, Picasso, Picture
