Influence of pyrolysis parameters on obtaining synthetic fuel via fast pysolysis of agricultural wastes

Abstract (EN)

In this study, oat straw and corncob were chosen as biomass samples and the fast pyrolysis of these biomass samples were carried out in well-swept fixed-bed reactor., For his purpose, the effects of pyrolysis temperature (300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800ºC/min), sweeping flow rate (50, 100, 200, 400 ve 800 cm3/min) and heating rate (100, 300, 500 ve 700°C/min) on the yields of pyrolysis products were investigated. According to the experimental results, maximum bio-oil yield was obtained; at 600°C pyrolsis temperature, 200 cm³/ min sweeping flow rate and 700°C/min heating rate. Maximum oil yields were obtained as %34,38 and %37,85 for oat straw and corncob biomass samples, respectively. The result of secondary fragmentation reaction increased the gas yield at high temperatures and oil yield at moderate temperaures. In this study, elemental analysis of oil yields, FTIR spectrum and GC-MS of oil yields obtained were determined. According to the this results; it was observed that, the structure of oil yield were composed of aromatic, phenols, carboxylic acids and nitrogenous compounds. When all the results evaluated, oat straw and corncob were determined that synthetic fuel product or chemical feedstock.
