Abstract (EN)

The main goal of geotechnical engineering is the physical and mechanical study of layers in the construction of structures. For this reason, soil analyzes are carried out with different methods while laying the foundation of the structures. The most important of these analyzes are those related to the concept of carrying capacity. The determination of the bearing power of the ground is reached as a result of the correct calculation of the load to be applied to the ground. The stresses that may occur on the ground are of great importance that it is within the safety limit. The task of calculating the load that the floor can carry within the safety limits is therefore very important. The bearing capacity of the floor is designed not only to bear the load of the structures built on it. The role of the soil, its reliance on the load of additional structures added to the soil afterwards affects the bearing power of the soil. As can be expected, the results of non-feasible measures, such as reducing the number of columns and beams, especially on the ground floors and basements of high-rise buildings, are expected to be quite difficult. When studying the concept of bearing power of a building foundation, two important parameters should be taken into account. The first is the load capacity limit, and the second is the allowable amount of settlement. During the construction of the structure, compaction (sitting) occurs in the loaded soil environment. The time to complete and the total number of sittings depends on the tier categories and the type of load. The foundation must not cause excessive stress on the ground when transferring superstructure loads to the bearing ground layers. For this reason, an appropriate number of safety must be applied in the design of the safe foundation. In Geotechnical Engineering, the design of foundations that safely transfer various superstructure loads to the ground is extremely important. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth examination of the soil characteristics. In this study, the bearing power will be examined by taking into account the uncertainties in the design parameters and during the field work on the ground with different conveying power methods. In TBDY-2018, the recommended Basic Bearing Power Strength coefficient value is applied to determine the design bearing power. In Eurocode 8, in addition to this coefficient, a reduction is made with the coefficients determined in the design parameters. In this study, the appropriateness of the coefficient proposed in TBDY-2018 and whether an additional reduction is required will be investigated.
