Abstract (EN)
Sufism is a discipline that strengthens an individual's inner religious experience and spirituality. Merely learning and memorizing religious knowledge from written sources is not sufficient for one to truly live by their faith. A person can be regarded as a genuine believer only when they are able to transform their acquired knowledge into righteous actions. The spiritual dimension that Islam presents to humanity is realized through Sufi teachings and practices. Throughout history, numerous exemplary figures have embodied the essence of Sufism. These individuals have served as spiritual guides, leading people toward moral and spiritual maturity through both their way of life and their teachings. Moreover, by emphasizing ethical values, they have played a significant role in fostering love and harmony within social relations. In the modern era, the proliferation of digital technologies has made access to information much easier. Through various media platforms, producers are now able to convey their messages on a wide range of subjects via television series and films. Among these subjects, Sufism has gained a prominent place. This study examines the TV series Vefa Sultan, broadcast on TRT 1, which portrays the life and spiritual teachings of Muslihuddin Mustafa (known as Sheikh Vefa). The main research problem of this study is to explore how Sufi concepts and symbols are visually represented in the series, how they resonate with the inner world of the audience, and to what extent the series maintains a connection with historical and spiritual reality. The study employs a qualitative research design, using document analysis to examine and interpret digital data.
