Abstract (EN)

In recent years, with the population increase and urbanization, noise pollution is seen as an important environmental problem. This problem is increasing day by day in developed and developing societies. In the source investigation of the pollution, the traffic noise originating from the vehicles comes out as a kind of noise which is exposed at any moment. As a result of evaluation of the physiological and psychological aspects of the noise, the negative effects on the health of the community have been subject to many researches. Turgut Ozal and Kenan Evren Boulevards, which have the highest traffic flow in the city center of Adana, are located at junctions between 07:00-08:00, evening 19:00-20:00 and between 23:00-00: noise levels and noise mapping are the main objectives of the study. The noise map has been drawn up in the course of the work in line with the calculations for measures to be taken with the SoundPLAN program, which is used for the calculation and mapping of airborne, highway, railway and industrial noise sources in European Union countries. As a result, existing noise sources have been identified and the pollution of these sources has been measured and the points of concentration of pollution sources have been revealed. In the light of this information, it will contribute to taking a number of measures for regions that will affect human and environmental health.
