Abstract (EN)
Objective: Within the scope of this study, it is aimed to reveal and examine the feelings, thoughts and perceptions of the 60+ Tazelenme University students, the children of the Tazelenme University students, the students of the Department of Gerontology and the parents of the students of the Gerontology Department, representing 3 generations of different generations. Method: In this study, phenomenology design of qualitative research was used. A semi-structured interview form was generated to collect data within the scope of the research, and a total of 19 participants were interviewed in 5 focus group studies. Content analysis was used for the analysis of the data. Results: Intergenerational conflicts mostly appeared in the findings in the consensual and functional solidarity categories, and it was observed that Baby Boom and Generation X participants expressed closer thoughts to each other, while Generation Y participants had opinions that could be regarded as opposed to these thoughts. It can be said that there is an obvious difference of opinion between the members of the generation Y participants born in the 1980s and those born after 1997. Conclusion: It has been observed that conflict between generations in our society mostly takes place over social values and that the decreasing rate of socialization is an important factor in generation conflict is supported by the findings. It was thought that the Tazelenme University, as a gerontological intervention, had an effect in increasing the decreased socialization rate in individuals and thus could carry the generation conflict to a constructive ground.
