Abstract (EN)

The fact that burnout creates problems at both individual and organizational levels causes the phenomenon to be frequently addressed in different professional groups. The fact that both intense working hours and the nature of the work make groups working in the healthcare field more at risk of burnout further increases the interest in this field. It has been proven by various studies that perceived organizational support and psychological capital have a significant impact on reducing burnout. However, perceived organizational support and burnout; Although the relationships between psychological capital and burnout variables are frequently discussed, no study has been found that examines perceived organizational support, psychological capital and burnout variables together. In this regard, the aim of the study is to determine the relationship between perceived organizational support and burnout in medical secretaries and to examine whether psychological capital has a mediating role in this relationship. For this purpose, data were collected through surveys from 411 medical secretaries working in health institutions affiliated with a foundation university. IBM SPSS 22.0 package program was used to analyze the data. As a result of the regression analysis, burnout of organizational support and psychological capital was found to be negatively and significantly; It has been determined that organizational support affects psychological capital positively and significantly. However, it has been revealed that psychological capital has a mediating role in the relationship between organizational support and burnout. Perceived organizational support score averages in subgroups of sociodemographic variables such as education, economic status and city of work; A significant difference was detected between the psychological capital score averages in the service duration subgroups. Significant differences were found between economic status and city of residence subgroups in terms of burnout score averages. The findings of the research have the potential to provide important information in eliminating or reducing burnout. This information may also shed light on the creation of internal policies regarding burnout.
