Abstract (EN)

The period that started with the Oghuz-Turkmen dialect in the Anatolian region between the 13th and 15th centuries is called the "Old Oghuz Turkish" period. There are many manuscripts related to this period. In the late 14th and early 15th centuries, the interpretations and translations of the Quran into Turkish increased. The commentaries written after these periods contributed to the advancement of Turkish as a scientific language. The translations made were both tafsir and short surah commentaries. The text we are working on is located in the Orientalische Handwriting category of the Prussian Cultural Heritage/Berlin State Library with the project number PPN651791340. The work, written entirely in naskh script and the vowel system, has 241 pages. Its dimensions are 355x220 (240x140) mm. The section we are working on covers page numbers 119b-241a. In the work, suras are interpreted and narrations about the verses are included. A translation study will be carried out by considering this manuscript copy. After the transcription and translation part is completed, the grammatical index, dictionary and language analysis of this text will be carried out. As a source, firstly the Qur'an commentaries written in Old Oghuz Turkish and other Qur'an commentaries and translations written in Turkish will be scanned. In this study, spelling will also be included in the language studies section. While examining the language used, important usages will be identified and revealed as they will be compared with Old Turkish and today's Turkish. Our aim is to linguistically introduce the Qur'an commentary by Üveys B. Hoca Osmân B. Emîr İlyâs B. Evliyâ, which contains the linguistic features of Old Oghuz Turkish, to the scientific world and to present the work as a source for Old Oghuz Turkish.
