Abstract (EN)

The family institution has undergone constant changes in the historical process structurally. In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between life satisfaction and psychological well-being of single parent women. The research was carried out with 257 single parent women residing in Mersin. Participants in the study were reached by snowball sampling method. The general survey model was used in the research. Survey technique, which is one of the most frequently used techniques among scanning models, was used in data collection. Research data were collected using the "Satisfaction with Life Scale" and the "Psychological Well-Being Scale". As a result of the research, it was revealed that the general life satisfaction and psychological well-being of single-parent women were moderate. In the study, it was revealed that the general life satisfaction and psychological well-being levels of women who were single parents due to reasons such as the death of their spouse, abandonment, and separate life were higher than those who were single parents due to divorce. The study also revealed that general life satisfaction and psychological well-being levels differ depending on the time spent as a single parent. As the time spent as a single parent increases, the general life satisfaction and psychological well-being levels also increase.
