Abstract (EN)

Mothers and fathers who raise their children alone make up the single-parent family. However, according to statistics, mothers constitute the majority of single-parent families. The effects of the changes have created the need for new social policies, as well as new strategies. The social policy support that is provided by the state of women who continue their lives alone as "both mother and father" is very important. The data providing the social policies in Turkey and Germany will be held later within the comparative study conducted this is also turning into a written history of the experiences of single parent mothers. In the current thesis, in order to obtain data from different perspectives such as divorce, death, separation, etc. family perceptions of single-parent mothers who raise their children alone for reasons, their experiences of being a single-parent family, what kind of support they receive, and how they cope with the difficulties they experience This will be qualitatively examined from a feminist perspective and compared between the two countries. The psycho-pedagogical, economic, social, cultural, and legal effects of being a mother in a single parent family will be explored within the framework of the social policy approach. The research sample, living in Germany (Turkish immigrants) and Turkey has been narrowed to being Turkish, single parent mothers. The similarities and differences between the two countries are revealed by examining the motherhood experiences of single-parent mothers in Berlin during the period in Turkey and in Germany within the scope of the Erasmus program, within the framework of the social policy approach.
