Child and perception of chilhood in a single parent family: A qualitative study on female parents in Antalya

The meaning attributed to the child by the society and the position of the child in the family have changed and transformed over time depending on the conjunctural effects. The way the child is perceived in the family, especially by the parents in single-parent families, the perception of the childhood process and the evaluation of the child-parent relationship are very important in terms of what kind of changes and transformations will be experienced about the concept of family and childhood in the future processes in society. Examining the perception of childhood and the child-parent relationship of the woman, who has a double disadvantage as a single parent, is very important in terms of contributing to both childhood and women's studies. In this thesis, which aims to examine the perception of childhood and the child-parent relationship of single-parent women, 15 single-parent women in Antalya were interviewed. Qualitative study was conducted and semi-structured interview technique was applied.
