Abstract (EN)
Amounts of single parent families rise in Turkey as well as in the World. Being single parents depend on death, divorce and long-term separateness. Under these conditions members of single parent families experience some social and individual changes before and/or after this process. They are affected positively or negatively as a result of being single parent family member.Family has been the subject of social work discipline and profession with its different aspects and problems ever since. If necessary, social work shall be executed individual and social professional practice to prevent and solve family and family member?s problems. Clinical social work professions coordinate with other related psychiatric profession team about individuals, groups, families or community mental health and mental health problems.Amount of single-parent families because of divorce is growing in Turkey. This new situation causes a positive or negative changes family members? lives. This study was conducted to investigate single parent mothers and their children psychological status after divorce, needs of their taking psychological support, and reasons of having no support in Yalova. Data is collected by a survey form prepared by investigator. Clinical social work practices are evaluated and discussed in the context of psychological needs of single-parent families and in terms of the satisfaction of needs.
