Abstract (EN)

This study undertakes research on single-coat paint applications, aiming to achieve efficient resource utilization. The thesis is driven by the objectives of preserving limited resources and facilitating time savings by reducing application duration. The utilization of a non-diluting product in conjunction with simple application tools enables the attainment of single-coat performance. Consequently, the study mitigates the impact of variations in product performance associated with user skill. The overarching aim is to enhance the effective utilization of limited resources and provide a viable solution for a broad user base. Specifically, the study aims to develop single-coat paint systems that offer cost advantages, ease of use, and broad accessibility, serving as an alternative to conventional two-coat paint systems. This system exhibits considerable potential for successful implementation within our domestic and proximate geographic contexts. Nevertheless, when considered from a global perspective, it becomes evident that addressing the following deficiencies and attaining a more advanced stage will be achievable over time. The desired first-class coverage and resistance to smudging appear challenging to achieve utilizing existing recipe formulation techniques. A judicious approach involves incorporating TiO₂ and other fillers into the system in liquid form to attain a high degree of smudge resistance. Nonetheless, experimental evaluations conducted with liquid systems have revealed substantial issues pertaining to foam formation and system stability. While current recipe studies align well with the requirements of Turkey and its neighboring regions, they may prove inadequate for markets characterized by intense competition and advanced technological demands. Hence, it is a long-term objective to monitor emerging technologies and elevate our recipe studies to a more advanced level.
