Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine important factors affecting the propeller performance and studying performance analysis of the two different variable-pitch propeller which has 1.8 m and 2.0 m diameters. The aim of this analysis is to find out which propeller is more appropriate for the same task. In this review known propeller theories, the current Hamilton Standard propeller performance graphics and propeller performance and efficiency graphs which belongs to manufacturer were used. In the first part of this study, the effects on the propeller performance of the parameters such as the propeller pitch, the propeller pitch geometry, the propeller blade load, the propeller root geometry (shank form), the compressibility effect and the blockage effect were investigated after that the obtained results are presented in graphical form. In the second stage, dynamic conditions of the propellers are studied and some crucial parameters such as efficiency, thrust and pitch angle were analyzed for three different condition of aircraft which are take off, climb and cruise . Then the results are graphically presented in a comparative manner. In the last case the noise of the propellers was examined and the study was terminated.
