Methods used on technology acquisition: Comparison of Turkey, USA, Germany and China

With the rapid advancement of technology in the globalizing world, it is getting more and more difficult for companies to keep up with the conditions of competition. This situation makes technology management very important and makes it one of the methods that companies should apply in order not to lose their competitive advantage. Companies have to make decisions in line with their strategies in order to realize technology management. For this reason, technology acquisition, which is one of the sub-branches of technology management, has been focused on in the study. While the in-house technology acquisition method is specified as the establishment of R&D departments within the company; As external acquisition methods, joint ventures and strategic alliances, R&D partnerships, R&D contracts, university-industry collaborations, consortia, mergers and company acquisition and technology licenses appear.
