A study on affecting factors of digital financial technology use intention and behavior within the framework of technology acceptance model

This thesis study aims to propose a theoretical model to explain the intention and behavior of individuals regarding the use of a digital financial technology within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in the context of adopting digital financial technologies. Accordingly, factors such as age, education, digital literacy, financial literacy, and self-efficacy belief toward digital financial technologies were designated as external factors, serving as antecedents to the factors included in the TAM, for the acceptance of a digital financial technology. The conceptual frameworks and theoretical foundations of the constructs, factors, and their relationships within the study's model were explained, and empirical findings from the literature were presented. Data were collected from 345 participants using a measurement instrument developed for testing the model, which was demonstrated to yield valid and reliable scores. Path analysis was performed on the data to test the model. Following revisions suggested by the fit indices, the Digital Financial Technology Acceptance Model was found to achieve an acceptable level based on the model fit indices, and all path coefficients were statistically significant. In conclusion, age, education level, digital literacy, financial literacy, and self-efficacy beliefs were revealed to be significant factors playing a role in the adoption of a digital financial technology.
