Özet (EN)

Interactive children's books, distinct from traditional printed counterparts, redefine the conventional reading experience by incorporating innovative design strategies that extend beyond linear narratives. These books employ a variety of sensory and interactive elements—such as touch-sensitive surfaces, embedded toys, fold-out features, and auditory components—to actively engage children cognitively and physically. By fostering attention, participation, and exploration, interactive books serve as dynamic tools for developmental engagement. This study aims to investigate, from a design perspective, the developmental potential of technology-enhanced interactive books that stimulate multiple senses (e.g., tactile, auditory, and visual), contrasting them with traditional books that position children as passive observers or limit interaction to rudimentary elements. The research incorporates a sectoral analysis of both existing and newly developed interactive books, categorizing them based on interaction types and functionalities. Additionally, insights were gathered through a dedicated workshop with experts in the field. The findings reveal emerging trends and potential advancements in the functional features of next-generation, technology-enriched interactive book designs. Recommendations are provided to guide the development of interactive books that effectively integrate innovative technologies to enhance children's engagement and learning experiences.
