Abstract (EN)

In this study, The changes in antibacterial activity with the use of antimicrobial compounds were investigated in water repellent, soil repellent and oil repellent textile finishes; together and seperately. E.coli microorganism which is a fecal contamination factor were used in the experiments. Polyester and coton fabrics were used and they were washed 10 and 20 times. The results were compared with the unwashed fabrics. Inorganic based dust that contains mainly hydroxyapatite (HA) and silver ions (Ag+) were used as an antibacterial agent. Fabric samples were treated with the silver ions (Ag+) which is known for its bactericidal effect by using specific methods. With the aim of having these water repellent, oil repellent and soil repellent properties; Nuva2110 were used. It was observed that hydrophobic samples provided passive protection and the antimicrobial activity correlated with the number of washes in water repellent and antibacterial fabrics. The results were evaluated. It was found that the samples which were washed 0, 10 and 20 times were antibacterial.
