Özet (EN)

Biomimicry is an approach that produces innovative and creative designs in many different disciplines by taking nature as a model. This approach aims to create a problem-solving strategy based on inspiration from nature and/or analysis of nature. In this context, the design applications of the biomimicry approach in different disciplines have been revealed in the research, and how this approach is applied to clothing designs, especially in the fields of textile and fashion design, has been explained through visual examples. Then, five clothing designs were created based on the biomimicry design elements selected by the researcher as the main inspiration for the Çankırı Salt Cave and rock salt, a natural formation unique to the Çankırı region. The research is essential in terms of positioning the Çankırı Salt Cave and rock salt as a source for other designs as a cultural and natural asset, as well as for re-interpretation of this value within the framework of biomimicry on different platforms through design, as a local value in social memory and as a scientific field of nature origin. In the research included in the scope of qualitative research, the data were obtained by documentary screening method. It has been concluded that with the applications of biomimicry in the field of fashion design, the resources that exist in nature, along with other disciplines and technology, can give a cultural, artistic, innovative, creative and functional quality to clothing designs.
