Abstract (EN)
As the world population increases, the consumption of natural resources, the need for energy and the consumption of fossil fuels have increased. As a result of this increase, various negative effects have emerged in nature such as the deterioration of the natural life cycle and the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These effects have led to global warming, which negatively affects the life of the earth. As a result of global warming, climates are changing and this situation negatively affects natural life. The countries of the world are working together to determine the effect of global warming on the world, to calculate the level of these effects, to make evaluations and to minimize their effects. These studies; It includes the determination of activities that consume energy and produce carbon emissions, the calculation of carbon emission amounts and improvement studies. The textile sector is one of the important sectors that emit carbon emissions worldwide. The products produced in the textile sector are used in many sectors. Various gases are released to the atmosphere in the processes of the production of textile products. These gases also include gases that cause greenhouse gas emissions. The effect of these gases, which cause greenhouse gas emissions, can be measured with the "carbon footprint" calculation. Within the scope of the study, carbon footprint calculations were carried out in a textile factory that produces textile products with sizing, weaving and apparel production processes. In these processes, greenhouse gas emissions to the air were calculated with the Tier method. According to the findings, the amount of carbon footprint given to the atmosphere is 1.43 tons CO2e/ton product. KEYWORDS: CARBON FOOTPRINT, GREENHOUSE GASES, CLIMATE CHANGE
