Abstract (EN)

On todays economy, most of the business enterprises are SMEs and those enterprises contribution to the economy is far more than expected. On many developing countries a significant part of production and employment is provided by SMEs. But, SMEs faces many problems, initially financial, because of insufficent financial sources and promotions provided fort hem and ina dequate credit possibilities. On this Project, alternative financial methods are discussed as solutions fort he main problems that SME faces and the benefits SMEs. In addition, a survey has been made on SMEs in Gaziantep that has certain capacity in textile sector of Gaziantep. This Project consists on three parts. First part focuses on SMEs definitions, advantages, disadvantages, features, SMEs place and importance at the World economy and turkish economies main financial problems. Second part focuces on alternative methods that can be used for SMEs financial problems in Turkey, and those methods main features, advantages and disadvantages, functions, contribution to the economy. And lastly at the third part includes an application on financial problems and the alternative financial methods of SMEs that oparates in textile industry in Gaziantep organized industry zone. In this research, the survey technique, one of the qualitative research technique, used and the results are analized statistically. As a result, they are not sufficiently informed about alternative financing methods for textile firms have been observed in Gaziantep and therefore they do not tend to use alternative financing.
