Abstract (EN)
Ibadhiyah and Muʿtazilah are two important schools of thought that were formed in the city of Basra. The social position in Basra of the human resources from which the Ibadhiyah and Muʿtazilah were fed, and the political, socio-economic, cultural and scientific atmosphere of the city played a leading role in the systematization of the thoughts and views of both sects on basic issues. When the views of Ibadhiyah and Muʿtazilah on the political issues of the period and the creed and social issues arising from these issues due to the unique conditions of Basra are examined, it will be seen that there are serious similarities and even they express the same views on some issues. It is a normal situation for sects formed in the same geography and social-political problems to have the same/similar ideas on some issues or to exchange views with each other. However, the diversity of opinion between the two sects, which is the subject of our research, has drawn our attention. Therefore, in our study, we tried to determine the relationship between Ibadhiyah-Muʿtazilah, the manifestation and direction of this relationship, and also to reveal the interaction between both sects in the context of their basic views. In order to examine the relationship between the Ibadhiyah and Muʿtazilah sects, we made researches in the context of political, theological and methodological issues. Considering the historical process, we have discussed the views of Ibadhiyah and Muʿtazilah comparatively. Thus, we tried to reveal the intellectual similarity between the two schools.
