The problems encountered by foreigners learning Turkish as a elective course and the solutions: Tunisia example

The aim of this research is to identify the problems faced by Tunisian students learning Turkish as an elective course and learn the solutions in this regard. Within the scope of the thesis, International Turkey Maarif School located in Tunis, Hrari and Bardon High School together with Tunisia students learning Turkish at 9 April University and their lecturers were utilized. Qualitative research method for the collected data and the content analysis method was used for analysis of data coming from research patterns by using semi-structured interview form as a data collection tool. The questions related to language skills were represented to the students in the table of acquisitions in the Common European Framework of Reference. In this study, the topics presented to students are divided into three main groups; basic skills, language and culture differences and language. There were 41 students and 5 teachers within these groups. In addition to the research, in the light of the opinions of Tunisian students learning Turkish as an elective language and their Turkish teachers, problems about writing and reading among language skills, past time differences in grammar, possessive suffixes, clauses, pronunciatiton and alphabet have been identified and the solutions have been tried to be presented.
