Abstract (EN)

In thesis study; it was aimed that problems (water leaks, blockages etc.) encountered pipes, different types and diameters, used for clean and waste water transmission from infrastructure elements in the city or various residential areas were examined and determined with georadar (GPR) technique. This method does not damage the investigation area (digging, drilling, etc.) and disrupt daily life with this non-destructive feature. For this purpose modeling, laboratory, and field studies were conducted using 500 and 800 MHz center frequency antennas. Firstly; forward modeling studies were made with finite difference time domain approach for model geometries including empty and water filled pvc pipes from infrastructure elements. After that, in laboratory, we filled sand, located different diameters and types pipes as steel, pvc, corrugated, rigid pvc and coil into two test boxes and collected to GPR data on these boxes. At the final stage, GPR studies have been carried out to determine the problems existing infrastructure systems in different survey areas already in use. 2 and 3 dimensional images were generated from the GPR data obtained in these investigations. The depths, diameters, types, obstructed and problematic locations of the pipes were tried to define by analyzing the shapes and amplitudes of reflection hyperbolas in radargrams obtained from modeling, laboratory and field studies.
