Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the performance mood of tennis players and their tennis performances A study group was formed from the athletes who are licensed in the Turkish Tennis Federation and actively play tennis with more than 5 players and participate in at least 15 tournaments per year. A total of 41 athletes, including 24 men and 17 women, participated voluntarily. The research consists of three parts. In the first part, "Personal Information Form" developed by the researcher to determine the demographic characteristics of the athletes. In the second part, the "Status and Continuity" scale was developed by Jackson and Ekund(2004) in order to evaluate the "optimal performance mood" in the physical activity and sport environment. The validity and reliability study of the scale for Turkish athletes was conducted by Aşçı, Çağlar, Eklund, Altıntaş and Jackson(2007). In the third part, the results of the four tournaments played by the athletes were obtained by looking at the i-court online system of the Turkish Tennis Federation. In the analysis of the data, the differences and relationships between the variables were examined by the t-test and Pearson correlation. In addition, the normality of the variables was examined with shapiro-wilk, kolmogorov smirnov and q-q plots. As a result of the research, no significant difference was found between the performances of tennis players and performance emotions according to the gender (p>0.05). For only female tennis players, there is no significant difference between their tennis performances and performance emotion moods (p>0.05). It was determined that there is a positive and moderate relationship between tennis performance and performance emotion states for only male tennis players (p<0.001). It was also determined that there is a positive and moderate relationship between the tennis performances and performance emotion states of all tennis players (p<0.001).
