Terceme-i Şerhu'l Fi Şerh-i Risale-i İbn Zeydun (Review-criticized text-dictionary-likeprint)

The Word "Hezliyyât" derived from the Arabic stem "hezl" in the meaning of joke, humor. Hezliyyât is a genre which handles serious matters in a humorous manner. Arabic, Persian and Turkish Literature have some works in the mentioned genre and one of these works is "İbn Zeydûn er-Risâletü'l-Hezliyye epistle. İbn Zeydûn er-Risâletü'l-Hezliyye was written addressed to vizier Âmir b. İbn Abdûs by his love "Vellâde" in a humorous manner. İbn Nübâte el-Mısrî who was one of the notable scholar and literary man of Mamluk Period had an interest in the literature of al- Andalus since his childhood and produced Andalusi literary works. In his own work work "Serhu'l-'uyûn", İbn Nübâte paraphrased the epistle which is written in the genre "hezzliyat by the Andalusian poet İbn Zeydun". Mehmet Said Efendi mentioned as Karahalil-zâde is well-known for his translation "Terceme-i Şerhu'l-'Uyûn Fî Şerh-i Risâle-i İbn Zeydûn" which is also the subject of our thesis study. The mentioned work is the translation of the paraphrase made by İbn Nübâte el-Mısrî for the epistle of İbn Zeydun. Our thesis study "Terceme-i Şerhu'l-'Uyûn Fî Şerh-i Risâle-i İbn Zeydûn" consists of introduction and two chapters. The Introduction includes paraphrasing tradition and "hezl" in the Classical Turkish Literature, life of İbn Zeydûn, his literary characteristics and his works. The first chapter of our thesis study handles the life of Mehmed Said Efendi, his works and literary characteristics, while the wording, content and form of the work are analyzed in the second chapter. After the analysis, the text was translated with the help of transcription alphabet. Our thesis also gives place to facsimile beside the translation. Following facsimile, a glossary consisting of the words in the work "Terceme-i Şerhu'l-'Uyûn Fî Şerh-i Risâle-i İbn Zeydûn" were added to the text.
