Social and economic condition of the villages in Yunt Mountain subdistrict according to the estate records (1850-1900)

In this study, social and economic condition in the villages of this district are tried to be put forward by examining the estate records of the villages in Yunt Mountain subdistrict in Manisa Shari'a court registers between 1850 and 1900. 626 estate records from the books of no. 293, 295, 296, 299, 302, 303, 308, 310, 311, 315, 316, 318, 320, 324, 325, 328, 331, 332, 338, 346, 347, 349, 352, 354, 357, 359, 361, 364 in Manisa Manuscript Library are used as a source in the study. Information obtained from the estates of the villages and tribes subject to subdistrict is examined in three chapters. In the entry section of the study, general information about Manisa's administrative division, Shari'a court registers and estate records and then Manisa estate records as a source is given. In the first chapter of the study, estate records are economically and socially analyzed. In this context, the information about estate owners' family structure, their nicknames and titles, professions, places of death and causes of death as well as deductions from the estate is provided. In the second chapter of the study, the assets of the estates owners are evaluated. In this chapter, information about estate owners' real estates, moveable properties, formation of wealth and distribution of wealth is given.
