Abstract (EN)

Cooling towers, which transfer heat and mass, are widely used machines. The aim of this study is to find the most efficiency range with experimental results by using different flow rate and temperature of water and air. The validity of model is satisfied with the result by doing experiments. In this study, experiments were made at different mass flow rate and temperature of water and air and were found at the most efficient range. According to results, same experiments were made with metal and aluminium packing material. Then, the most efficient material is defined.According to the results, metal packing material is the most efficient one as packing material. But it can not be used as packing material because of oxidation. Instead of metal material, aluminium with no oxidation feature is used as packing material with nearly same efficiency. Keywords : Cooling tower, packing material, efficiency, water flow, air flow, oxidation, aluminium
