Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research; The aim of this course is to examine the effect of using Flipped Classroom in geometry teaching on mathematics teacher candidates' attitudes towards geometry. Qualitative and quantitative research methods were used in the study. Pre-test and post-test control group quasi-experimental design was used for quantitative research methods and case study was used for qualitative research methods. The quantitative sample of the study was consisted of 79 students using the appropriate sampling from Bayburt University Faculty of Education Elementary Mathematics Teacher Education Program in 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Semester. and the qualitative sample consisted of 13 students using random sampling from the experimental group. Semi-structured interview form was prepared by taking expert opinion for student opinions. The students were informed about the geometry and the applied method. During the interviews, the interviewer's permission was recorded and the data were recorded on the phone and the data were analyzed descriptively. Geometry attitude scale developed by Bindak (2004) was used as a quantitative data collection tool. Data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 package program. As a result of ANCOVA analysis, it was seen that attitude scores of Flipped Classroom made a significant difference in favor of post-test. In the student interviews, students generally used positive expressions. In summary from the results of the study; It can be said that the Flipped Classroom applied in the geometry course had a positive effect on the attitudes of the students.
