The protection of trade secrets

The trade secrets,which are one of the most important non-financial assets of the commercial enterprises, are needed to be under legal protection to ensure economic life being continued smoothly. In this context ,firstly,it is important that trade secrets should be explained conceptually and legal protections that will be applied to the trade secrets should be determined. The trade secrets, which means all kinds of information having independent economic value, providing a competitive advantage in favor of its owner in economic activities, known only in a limited environment ,and providing an interest to its owner through being kept secretly, have been protected through a variety of legal arrangements from 4000 years ago to this day. This study aims to handle the legal regimes concerned about the protection of today's trade secrets, by taking advantage of the comparative law.
