Abstract (EN)

In our study, 130 cases have been chosen from all type 1 tympanoplasty cases, performed between December 2000 and August 2011 in our clinic. Information of these 130 cases, which were easily attainable, had been recorded regularly and all the cases had been examined and recorded by the same surgeon who performed surgery, during postoperative follow-up period. By reviewing files of these 130 cases; clinical notes, preoperative and postoperative odiogram results have been noted. According to four groups that have been performed due to graft techniques ; odiogram results ( SRT, ABG 500, ABG 1000, ABG 2000, ABG 3000, ABG 4000) , anatomic graft take results, and factors affecting results (age, gender, the site of perforation on tympanic membrane, the side of perforated ear, Diabetes Mellitus ve Hypertension, the length of postoperative observational period ve MERI scores) have been compared. Both, anatomical complete graft take and any positive value in odiometric scores, have been determined as `successful?.The datas acccessed, have been used to perform a database by SPSS for Windows 15.0 (SPSS Inc. , Chicago, Illinois ) computer program. Results have been used to make statistical analysis by the same computer program. In conclusion; cartilage tympanoplasty tecniques, especially `island cartilage tecnique? have been highlighted as the first choice in large perforations, the age of surgery has been specified as young as it could be done after age 7-9 to increase the success rate, postoperative care and convergence to doctor advice have been cited to be such important on surgical success, posterior perforations have been cited to have better prognosis, postoperative observational period has been emphasized to be maximum as much as it could be, MERI scoring system has been cited to have an important role on otologic surgery prognosis prediction, postoperative graft take and odiologic gain have been emphasized to be parts of the whole subject and it has been emphasized that, maximum benefit for our patients should be achieved in this way.
