Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of aerobic exercise on serum leptin and ghrelin levels for 8 weeks in men and women with type 2 diabetes. In this study, 4 male and 4 female type 2 diabetic patients were divided into two groups to perform submaximal aerobic exercise. Exercise group type 2 diabetes patients were given a 30-minute treadmill, a 30-minute fitness bike, a 10-minute ground exercise for 10 minutes, and finally a 5-minute cooling exercise for 75 minutes for three days per week for 2 months. Before and after 60 days, venous blood was collected from the right and left arm as hungry and saturated. The collected blood was centrifuged rapidly and the serum obtained was transferred to plastic and capped ependorf tubes for biochemical analysis and stored in deep freezer at -80ºC. Leptin and ghrelin were analyzed according to the procedures. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 23. According to the results, the average pre-exercise leptin values of women with type 2 diabetes (12,9950 ng/ml), mean pre-exercise leptin values of male patients (7,6325 ng / ml) in the form of. Mean leptin levels of female type 2 diabetes patients after exercise (9,0125 ng/ml), mean leptin levels of male patients after exercise (5,9625 ng/ml) in the form of. Ghrelin mean values before exercise in women (1400,2475 pg/ml), after exercise (1449,1650 pg/ml), erkeklerde ise egzersiz öncesi (993,0850 pg/ml), egzersiz sonrası (1087,7475 pg/ml) in the form of. There was found statistically significant relationship between leptin and ghrelin levels before and after exercise (p<0.05). 75-minute submaximal walking and cycling exercise resulted in a decrease in leptin levels in women and men with type 2 diabetes and an increase in ghrelin levels, this decrease and increase were found statistically significant (p<0.05).
