Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) treatment in diabetic patients is very important owing to increasingly hyperactivity thrombocytes and atherosclerosis. In several investigations, it was reported that diabetes caused to increased coronary artery disease cerebrovascular disease and death. In this study it was aimed to investigated the effect of ASA on osmoregulation, glysemic control, oxidative stres and inflammation in rats induced with experimantal diabetes type 2.24 rats were randomly divided in four groups: Control (I), ASA Control (II), Diabetic (III) and ASA Diabetic (IV) diabetes was induced by STZ treatment (30 mg/kg, twice injection) in obese rats. ASA (150mg/kg, bw,orally) was treated for five weeks in ASA Control and ASA Diabetic groups.Serum electrolytes (Na, K, Cl), creatinine, albumin, total protein levels were analyzed by an autoanalyzer. Proinflammatuary cytokines (IL-6, TNF-?, IFN-?), Argino Vasopressin (AVP) and insulin were analyzed by ELISA technics. Total Antioxidant Capasity (TOC) and Total Oxidant Capasity (TAC) levels were detected spectrophotometricaly. Serum proteins were analyzed by electrophoresis technique.At the end of the study ASA treatments decreased the fasting blood glucose levels in diabetic rats. ASA treatments interestingly increased the serum AVP levels in diabetics rats. Serum IL-6 levels were interestingly increased by ASA treatmets rats, but serum sodium levels were also decreased by ASA.In this study it was showed that important at ASA on osmoregulation and glysemic control in diabetic rats. Also, AVP levels were increased 2-fold by ASA treatment in diabetic rats. Firstly in this study, hypoglysemic effect of ASA was attributed to increase in blood volume by AVP levels. This explanation may be a new approach to literature in this topic.
