Abstract (EN)

Surface modification is one of the most important industrial processes following the heat treatment. Processes such as Nickel-plating and galvanizing are often performed while the effect of material on mechanical and wear resistance is limited. ESD, coating with electro-spark deposition, in contrast, provides better performance. The aim of this study is to investigate the abrasion resistance and micro hardness of the titanium alloy materials which are coated with TiC+TiB2 electrode by using ESD (electro spark deposition) method, and characterization of coating and measuring the coating thicknesses by taking the sections from the coated area and taking micro pictures on the optical microscope. The uses of titanium alloys are generally concentrated in the aerospace industry and have a good place for themselves. The abrasion resistance of the plates coated with corrosion and corrosion-resistant materials can be increased and it is important to reduce the industrial cost. Therefore, in order to be a highly researched industrial application, hard phase coating was made on the surface of a titanium based material.
