Abstract (EN)
Improvements in the field of health increased the needs and expectations of orthopedic surgeons as it is in many areas. The majority of implants used in the field of orthopedics consist of metallic materials. Metallic materials are preferred due to their high mechanical properties. However, metallic materials exhibit relatively low biocompatibility and cannot demonstrate good adhesion to bone tissue, as they are not bioactive. To ensure mechanical integration of the bone with the fixation, the metals should be coated with bioactive ceramics with high biocompatibility. Within the scope of the thesis, for the solution of this problem, biocompatible and bioactive HAP powder close to the bone structure was coated on plates made of Titanium close to the bone in mechanical meaning in metallic materials. Today, two of the most important parameters, the time and cost to reduce the aerosol coating method by Jun Akedo has been revealed. In this thesis study, parameters of Aerosol Coating method which is a new coating method are determined and the effect of these variables on coating quality is investigated. The surface properties of HAP powders and coatings were examined by optical microscope and SEM. EDX technique was used for elemental analysis of HAP powders and coatings and phase structures were investigated by XRD. The mechanical properties of the coatings were determined by roughness and scratch tests.
