Cultural elements in theater play music and reflections on theater composition

In this study, theater play music is examined in the context of music discipline through cultural elements. Theater reaches the audience more effectively and by appealing to the senses with auxiliary elements such as sound, environment, decor, light and music built on the text. Music, as a discipline used in theater, is handled within the scope of dramaturgy studies. While a theater play is being performed, composition studies are also included in the dramaturgy studies for the play. In this respect, the use of music / compositions used in theater plays is very important in terms of its contribution to the play. Within the conceptual framework, firstly, the historical and cultural development of the concept of theater is discussed. In addition, the concept of composing and the structures and elements used in the process of composing have been strengthened. The place and importance of composition in theater plays has been mentioned; the original research of the subject was carried out by addressing the composition techniques through theater music, cultural and regional differences in composition through method study. Phenomonological research model of qualitative research method was used as a method in the research. The concept of theater has been handled as a cultural element in the context of composition through play music, and the study has a unique value both with its interdisciplinary approach and in terms of offering a different perspective on the subject. The subject examined theater play music composition through State Theaters play music compositions and discussed music as a cultural element through theater.
